چکیده

We have found that photo-excited indigo carmine causes stepwise proton transfer to generate monoalcohol intermediate, which immediately returns to the parent molecule [I. Iwakura, A. Yabushita, T. Kobayashi, Chem. Lett. 38 (2009) 1020]. The kinetic isotope effect in the proton transfer of this system has been studied by direct observation of the real-time molecular vibrational amplitude during the reaction including the transition state using a sub-5-fs laser pulse. The kHa =k D a ratio for the proton transfer after photo-excitation is observed to be 1.5 ± 0.1. 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Removal of Indigo Carmine Dye by Using Palm Wood Cellulose Activated Carbon in Aqueous Solution: A Kinetic and Equilibrium Study

Mechanism of Indigo carmine dye adsorption on palm wood cellulose activated carbon (PWCAC) was studied. The use of low cost ecofriendly adsorbent has been investigated as an ideal alternative to the current expensive methods of removing dye from aqueous solution. The study is done by batch adsorption techniques. The quantitative adsorption kinetic and equilibrium parameter for indigo carmine dy...

Spectrophotometric Determination of Pantoprazole Sodium in Pharmaceuticals Using N-Bromosuccinimide, Methyl Orange and Indigo Carmine as Reagents

Two sensitive spectrophotometric methods are presented for the assay of pantoprazole sodium sesqui hydrate (PNT) in bulk drug and in formulations using N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) and two dyes, methyl orange and indigo carmine, as reagents. The methods involve the addition of a known excess of NBS to PNT  in acid medium, followed by determination of unreacted oxidant by reacting with a fixed a...

On the intrinsic photophysics of indigo: a time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy study of the indigo carmine dianion.

The intrinsic photophysics of indigo has been studied using gas-phase time-resolved photoelectron imaging of the indigo carmine dianion (InC(2-)). The action spectrum reveals that the gas-phase absorption spectrum arising from the S(1) <-- S(0) transition in InC(2-) has a similar solvent shift to that of neutral indigo. Femtosecond spectroscopy shows that the S(1) state decays on a 1.4 ps times...

Mechanistic investigation of the enantioselective intramolecular stetter reaction: proton transfer is the first irreversible step.

A study on the mechanism of the asymmetric intramolecular Stetter reaction is reported. This investigation includes the determination of the rate law, kinetic isotope effects, and competition experiments. The reaction was found to be first order in aldehyde and azolium catalyst or free carbene. A primary kinetic isotope effect was found for the proton of the aldehyde. Taken together with a seri...
